Cancellation & Weather
For regular tours
1. Reservations require full payment in advance. Refunds are only given with 48 hours' notice.
2. We do not refund if you miss your tour or no-show.
3. If we cancel for any safety reason, you will get a full refund up to the start time of your trip.
Please do not ask for exceptions, here is why: Our tour groups are kept small to maximize your enjoyment and experience. We have a very high guide to customer ratio, more than other companies. Your reservation has held your space and we have turned away other guests. We cannot refund for lateness out of consideration for other guests but will try to accommodate you with the next available tour that day or rental, if possible. Your booking confirmation has a check-in time of 30 minutes before tour time to avoid this.
Weather
You are going to be outside, on the coast! Expect variable conditions throughout the day. We do not cancel for light rain, cloudiness, or cool temperatures if water conditions are calm. Dense fog is rare and temporary but may postpone launching. Strong wind is the most frequent reason we cancel, even on warm, sunny days in the middle of summer. Coastal winds are very localized and can increase/change directions quickly.
• Spring, Summer & Fall: Typically, early morning and sometimes late afternoons are the calmest time of day to be on the water. The middle of the day can be the windiest.
• During the winter (Nov - March): The weather can range from ideal, sunny and warm to windy and rainy. Forecasts and actual conditions can vary widely, even between our two locations! If you are concerned about the weather, it is best to cancel with 48 hours' notice. If the forecast is mixed, we won't cancel a tour until the day of, based upon actual conditions.
